I am the Risk Manager and a certified CISM (Certified Information Security Manager) at Atea A/S, ensuring that business and IT understand the risks as well as roles and responsibilities within the security frameworks. As a risk manager I help the business to identify industry standards and regulatory guidelines for information security in order to minimize the risk of compromise of sensitive business systems and help develop, maintain, and evaluate organizational security policies and procedures, and they work closely with operations teams to ensure systems controls meet security requirements. I also manage and follow up on results of audits of system security.As a risk manager, I also create a security escalation mechanisms, conduct ongoing evaluations, and maintain vigilance throughout the whole team as well as interfacing from the security team to the various more technical groups, in order to get the right technical controls and solutions up and running.I’m truly passionate about my work and I believe there is always something to learn. I’, always eager to connect and collaborate with other people in the business and while I enjoy all aspects of my job, I think my favorite stage of a project is working with the client or business unit leader to understand his or her business objectives. This included writing policies and processes as well as conducting internal audits and presenting the ISMS for the external auditing certification body.
