I received my Master of Science degree in Electrical Engineering in august 1984 from Technical University of Denmark and worked as Ph.D. student at Technical University of Denmark, Servolaboratoriet with the project 'Adaptive control of systems with more outputs' from September 1984.In March 1987 I was employed as assistant professor at Servolaboratoriet in the field 'CAD of control systems' and joined the project group in the cross-departmental project in Computer-Aided Control Engineering.I am currently Professor in Intelligent Robotics at DTU Electrical and Photonics Engineering.My current research interests include adaptive control that was originally my main research area, computer-aided control engineering, vision-based automation and control as well as my currently most active area control and design of robots and autonomous systems.I am a founding member of the research group working on autonomous systems at IAU. I have published his results internationally in all of the mentioned research areas.I have extensive teaching experience, include courses such as 'Basic Control Theory', 'Microcomputer Systems', 'Industrial Automation Systems', 'Autonomous Robot Systems' and 'Advanced Mobile Robots' as well as a course in adaptive control.I have supervised more than 150 Master Projects and 20 PhD. projects.I was head of the department from February 1992 - March 1993 and have served on steering committees in several EU projects.I was the project coordinator on EU-COPERNICUS'93 project. 10119 Dynamic control of robotic manipulators, - Mechatronic approach.I was head of Automation and Control at DTU Electrical Engineering from 2001 to 2022 and I was Head of Studies for M.Sc.E.E. from 2007 to 2017Specialties: Robotics, Control, Autonomous Systems
