Audio books (and other audible content) typically consist of several assets - audio and cover art digital assets as well as metadata info that defines and relates these files. The ingestion platform is responsible for receiving, validating, encoding the data, complimenting it with additional information (prices, distribution rights/regions, royalty earners, etc), packaging it up (manifesting) and making the audio books available to purchase/consume at various stores (Amazon.com, iTunes, Audible own country-specific sites). My duties include the development, enhancement and support of data ingestion platform and its components, as well as maintenance and data migration of the catalog data.Languages/Tools/Environments: Java, Groovy, node framework, Oracle, Linus, MarkLogic, Tomcat.AWS: DynamoDB, S3, SQS, SNS, Sable.Projects/Tasks: Validate the structure and consistency of bundles/multi-part books data. Identify and correct deficient records. Implementation the audit trail capabilities for several components of the ingestion system. Automate the metadata ingestion for updates to existing books - make sure that trivial / none-impact-full updates do not require to be reviewed before being processed. Participation in on-call rotation and a multitude of ad hoc data quality/consistency tasks and other ingestion related activities.
