EOS SAR is a hardware project within EOSDA aimed at the design and development of newgeneration synthetic aperture radar (SAR) payloads for Earth observing satellites. Using state-of-the-art components and custom software algorithms such satellites provide solutions to thechallenges in business development and planet preservation. Other interests/previous experience include:- Electromagnetic modeling of antennas and passive microwave components (including ultrawideband, spiral, log-periodic, horn, microstrip, WiFi, GPS, reflector antennas and antenna arrays, filters, orthomode transducers, polarizers, etc.) using modern computer simulation tools like CST, FEKO, HFSS.- Design and fabrication of antennas and microwave components;- Complete characterization of microwave devices, including measurements in anechoic chamber (gain, beamwidth, power), measurement of S-parameters.- Material characterization, i.e. extraction of material properties in wide frequency range, up to mm-waves and THz ranges.- Experienced user of modern measurement equipment (spectrum analysers, amplifiers, frequency multipliers/converters, frequency generators, etc.)- Calculation of link budget/EM wave propagation (satellite links, tropospheric scattering, indoor environment).- Estimation of electromagnetic compatibility of various systems.
