Industrial and automotive design studio ATOM developed the innovative R1 full-size tram prototype for Uralvagonzavod Corporation (a major automotive manufacturer in Russia). The R1 tram project won the Red Dot Award in 2015 and was highly praised by such prominent designers as Chris Bangle (Chief of Design for BMW Group, 1992-2009), Marat Günak (Head of Design for Volkswagen, 2003-2008), Karim Rashid and Ross Lovegrove.Main duties:- The R1 design team management at the company’s Moscow office.- Managing manufacture of some of the exterior and interior tram parts in Moscow.- Design and production management of the driver's panel. The control panels of existing tram models were put under an ergonomic study and, as a result, a newly-designed control panel was manufactured. It received positive reviews from experts.- Managing the development of the on-board software.- Managing the design of an exhibition booth for Uralvagonzavod Corporation. The exhibition booth was erected on an area of 700 sq. m and was recognized as the best booth presented at the INNOPROM-2014 trade fair.
