Objectives of the National Action Plan on Human Rights and business are: -I. To identify key actors for business and human rights in Tanzania;II. To map out tangible actions for implementation of the UNGPs-BHR;III. To establish commitments from the stakeholders involving state actors, business Community, Civil Society Organizations and Communities towards15ensuring collective actions in respect and protection of human rights in business; andIV. To improve policy coherence for realizing better protection of people in business context.

1. The Committee supports Council by considering all matters relating to the legal aid and human rights 2. Overseeing the delivery of legal aid by members of the Society in all areas of the country and by providing advice on policies that should govern the Legal Aid Unit (LAU) of the TLS.3. To develop projects that promote respect for, the protection of, development and attainment of human rights and a culture of human rights;4. To conduct awareness raising programs to the public on human rights issues5. To recommend to Council when the Society should intervene, protest and condemn acts of human rights abuse in Tanzania or internationally;6. To recommend to Council litigation on public interest cases involving violations of human rights

The Project addresses the prevailing problem that people in Tanzania, particularly women and other vulnerable groups, have limited access to responsive and accountable justice & human rights protection mechanisms to claim their legal and human rights, as well as resolve their grievance.Overall, the Project will pursue strategic initiatives to strengthen the ability of selected justice and human rights institutions to provide effective and accountable public service delivery in the justice & human rights sector, as well as to improve access of communities, particularly women and other vulnerable groups, to available justice and human rights protection mechanisms. It is designed around the following three outputs:Output 1: Justice sector coordination and data management enhanced for a more inclusive, accountable and evidence-based policy and law making processes;Output 2: Women and other vulnerable groups enjoy enhanced access to justice and are empowered to demand respect for their rights;Output 3: Strengthened role of national authorities and civil society in the promotion and protection of human rights and women access to justice.

Directly from the University of Dar es salaam Olengurumwa joined the Legal and Humana Rights Centre (LHRC) one of the reputable human rights bodies in Tanzania as the researcher and writer of the Tanzania human rights reports from 2009-2012. The treasured three years spent with LHRC has transformed him professionally. For the period he worked with LHRC, Olengurumwa managed to visit almost the entire part of the country doing human rights research, surveys, fact finding missions and human rights interventions.
