Olga Chernova is the Chief Investment Officer and Managing Principal of Sancus Capital, a hedge fund that focuses on a diversified long/short credit trading strategy. Chernova has over 20 years of credit trading experience and has been awarded numerous distinctions including Tomorrow’s Titans by The Hedge Fund Journal, in 2010. Chernova has been trading credit derivatives since 1999 and made vital contributions towards the creation of the CDX Indices and tranche markets. She was formerly Head of Credit at JP Morgan Proprietary Trading, Head of Structured Credit at Dillon Read Capital Management and Head of US Correlation at Goldman Sachs. Over the course of her career, Chernova has managed large trading teams and developed a series of buy-side and sell-side trading platforms, as well as, proprietary risk management systems. BarclayHedge ranked Chernova’s Sancus Capital Select Master Fund #1 in its Long/Short Credit database for the calendar year 2013. The Sancus Capital Select Master Fund won the Global Credit Fund of 2013 and 2016 at the Investors Choice Hedge Fund Awards 2014 and 2017, respectively. Chernova received a B.S. in Finance from Northwestern Collage and an M.B.A. from Columbia Business School. She is currently an advisory member to the Board of Northwestern College and has a number of philanthropic interests in arts and nature conservation.
