Throws Farm Technology CentreAreas of work:Assist with all aspects of field trials as part of the R&D team. To include – harvest, cropassessments and seed preparation1) Crop assessments: measuring crop heights, counting ear numbers andcalculating plot areas.2) Support the team with seed preparation for the coming autumn season: - Threshing and cleaning wheat and other cereals harvested in the summer ready todrill again in the autumn - Packeting cereal or oilseeds utilising highly accurate machinery to count the seedsinto individual packets for each experimental plot unit3) Assisting with the trial harvest: Part of a combining team. Supporting the combine driver by taking samples of grainand returning these for analysis back at Throws Farm (Thousand Grain Weight etc.)
