Community and youth-engaged scholar, committed to elevating youth voices in the fight for educational justice. As a service-learning instructor, I center bell hooks' notion of "the classroom as a communal space" to encourage on-going and interactive dialogue with students.Over the past 10 years, I’ve worked in spaces that promote college access and retention. My research focuses on contemporary school segregation in K-12 public schools and working alongside youth to challenge and dismantle educational policies and practices that uphold racial discrimination and exclusion in schools.
