Oliver Dieckmann is a Trainee in the European Parliament with MEP Engin Eroglu, Chair of the China delegation at European Parliament. He is proficient in Russisch, Chinesisch and Englisch. Colleagues describe him as "Olli was a fantastic intern, helping out enormously just as The China Project (formerly SupChina) was getting one of our most popular podcasts, China Stories, off the ground. He worked hard to coordinate our editorial partners and our narrators, and quickly learned the skills required to engineer, edit, upload, and publish the podcasts — as many as 10 per week sometimes. He also published a great piece about tower running in Shanghai on the website. Separately from his work for us, he also submitted one of the research papers that was chosen ultimately for a student-run journal, Sinologia, and did an outstanding job presenting that paper at the online Sinologia conference that I helped to moderate and for which I served as primary discussant. I had no hand whatsoever in the selection, and was delighted to see what an excellent presentation he did. Olli has a very bright future as scholar, and my only regret is that due to the pandemic we were unable to meet in person!"
