As a Clinical Research Coordinator II, I am responsible for conducting clinical research in neurology with participants that are enrolled into clinical research studies that explore treatment options for patients that have neuromuscular diseases. I am tasked with organizing, coordinating, and documenting all steps of the research process with participants that are enrolled in the clinical studies. During these clinical research study visits, I perform all the necessary requirements, standards, and documentation that are needed and that align with the study protocol, the Institutional Review Boards, and the studies' sponsors. It is a pleasure working with the clinical trail participants and helping them through the entirety of the research studies. Working as a Research Assistant at the Center for American Indian Community Health at the University of Kansas Medical Center has provided me with many memorable experiences in research and healthcare. With my time working closely with the American Indian community, I have become more knowledgeable of health disparities and health inequalities that exist in these populations and have grasped a better understanding of ways to assist their needs. Immersing myself in learning and interacting with these communities has propelled my interest in serving populations and their health.

Student VolunteerBoys And Girls Club Of Greater Kansas City: Thornberry Unit Jan 2016 - Apr 2016Kansas City, Missouri AreaMy time volunteering with the 3rd graders at the Boys and Girls Club-Thornberry Unit offered me the ability to grow as person of integrity and help inspire youth to achieve their goals. I was there to help with homework, play games, and most importantly be a friend to the kids. Being a role model and a mentor for the kids I encouraged them to do well in school and to do their best. Working with the youth in the community as a student volunteer, I wanted to make a difference in surrounding communities by exemplifying acts of humility, integrity, and compassion. These characteristics aid in inspiring youth to become productive members of society. As a result, it helps enrich the surrounding community through community service.
