I work as a practice administrator in a busy central London GP practice, and have done so for the last 10 years. In the meantime I have achieved a first class honours degree in Fine Art. Whilst working in the NHS fills me with pride, fulfilling my creative vocation has been, and still is, a big part of my life. While I have no real expectations of Art becoming my occupation, it is important to me to somehow be able to accommodate my practice alongside my work. My work in the NHS has given me an opportunity to collaborate in all levels of organisational administration, and I enjoy working with everyone, from partners, through GP's to they Reception and the Admin teams. I have a special interest in the IT aspects of the practice as well as patient participation. I have practical IT and manual skills, and am always prepared to broaden my skill-set if need be.I have broad, hands-on experience of many facets of creativity, from the creative spark of inspiration, to the perspiration of realisation. From necessity, I have had to both work on my own, and as part of a team. In either situation great communication is paramount, and central to this is good interpersonal skills. This is just as true whether working in creative pursuit or in the workplace.
