Mental Health Counselor in a Brooklyn, NY-based group practice owned and operated by people of color

Mental Health Counseling Intern on The Bridge Manhattan Shelter ACT Team II counseling individuals in the NYC shelter system who have persistent mental health issues, substance use disorders, extensive trauma histories, and criminal justice involvement. Part of a multidisciplinary care team providing rounded, empowering, community-based care to meet our 60+ clients' evolving and multivariate needs.

Coached over 35 clients ranging in age from 18 to 50 on personal and professional development and life transitions using the PDP ProScan development tool and other skills.

Created and delivered courses and training in pastoral care and leadership for congregants, community leaders, and pastoral staff. Established programming for developing emotionally/psychologically healthy spiritual practices and teaching including creating and leading contemplative retreats.

Developed and taught classes on theology, biblical interpretation, justice, and spirituality; managed logistics for large events including seminars and baptisms; and carried out one-to-one and group pastoral care with congregants in a socioeconomically and ethnically diverse community. Also provided internal coaching within the organization.

Designed and led training workshops on personal development and life skills to students at HK Polytechnic University and the Hong Kong University of Science and Technology (HKUST); provided one-to-one life coaching to students; and created and launched the organisation's coaching services.
