As Head of Operations for EcoTree International, I spearheaded the UK launch for this leading provider of nature-based solutions. My role involved sourcing, designing, and commercialising the company’s first UK agroforestry project, developing a 100-year economic and carbon model for woodland creation, and collaborating on peatland restoration initiatives. I successfully tracked key performance indicators for carbon, biodiversity, and economic productivity while guiding private financiers on UK Woodland Carbon Code and tree planting incentives. My efforts significantly contributed to advancing EcoTree’s mission of promoting sustainable forestry and environmental conservation in the UK.

As Head of Software at Farm Carbon Toolkit, I led the Calculator Department, overseeing significant enhancements to agricultural carbon footprinting tools. I secured £650k in funding through strategic grant applications, directed software development for improved data interoperability, and updated emissions factors with new methodologies. Additionally, I formed partnerships with leading organizations like WWF and Soil Association, and conducted extensive farmer training sessions. My leadership facilitated the integration of user feedback into software updates, advancing the toolkit’s mission to support sustainable farming practices and carbon management.

As Chief Operating Officer at SimGas Group, I managed the roll-out of modular biodigesters for dairy farmers across East Africa, overseeing financial modeling, market analysis, and operational strategy. I led product development, from design and prototyping to field testing, and integrated remote monitoring technologies to enhance performance tracking. My role included managing carbon finance projects under the CDM and Gold Standard, ensuring rigorous reporting and compliance. Additionally, I handled logistics and manufacturing operations, optimising supply chains and production processes, which contributed to SimGas becoming a leader in sustainable energy solutions for rural communities.

As Co-founder and Chief Operating Officer at Shamba Technologies, I established and grew a renewable energy product development company in Tanzania. I led the design, prototyping, and testing of patented solar home systems tailored for low-income markets. My role encompassed optimising biodigester designs for tropical agriculture and securing over $200k in equity investment through crowdfunding to finance manufacturing and distribution. I successfully launched innovative renewable energy solutions, contributing to sustainable development and energy access in East Africa.
