Various tasks including the design and implementation of custom features to meet customer needs, writing technical documentation and problem solving issues, including on customer sites worldwide.Part of a small team that developed a customised microCT scanner for medical research. Installed three systems in prestigious medical facilities and helped to train and support users.Part of a small team that developed prototype phase contrast CT scanner for inter operative cancer margin detection as part of Wellcome Trust grant in collaboration with UCL. Installed for use at Bart's hospital for pilot study. Project completed on time and under budget.

Wrote technical documentation for user, production and service use. Co-ordinated translation of documentation in to multiple languages. Development and documentation of technical processes. Set up virtual machines to allow emulation of hardware configurations to allow rapid documentation. Specified, installed and trained on vinyl printing equipment for system safety labelling.

Constructed a laser scanning system for electroluminescence and photoluminescence mapping of semiconductor devices including selection and purchase of components, physical design of hardware and writing software for device control in National Instruments Labview.

Designed and built a range of hardware for use in superconducting magnet systems, for example temperature-controlled inserts for growing cells, miniature cameras, construction of a microscope for use in very space constrained conditions from component parts. I also assisted in guiding the work of MSc and PhD students.
