Born and bred in Kenya, I spent much of my childhood on the East African coast and exploring the bush. As an unconventional student with a love of physical and mental challenges, I set up a kite-surfing business in Watamu on leaving school. For three years, I ran the business successfully, teaching kite-surfing, organising tailor-made trips for clients and guiding kite-surfing safaris along the coastline. During this period, I travelled extensively around East Africa - climbing Mount Kenya, fishing on remote lakes and camping in diverse landscapes. I also broadened my experience with trips to South East Asia, South Africa and Europe - surfing in Indonesia and Vietnam and travelling through Europe. I decided that it was time for a change and a challenge and shifted my career from the beach to the bush. I studied business in South Africa and completed an EcoTraining course in Kenya. Since then, I have worked on many safaris as a professional guide through Sub-Saharan Africa.I managed the Sabyinyo Silverback Lodge in Rwanda, where immersed myself in the inspiring Rwandan history and gained in-depth knowledge of the incredible mountain gorillas. Invigorated and inspired, my passionate about conserving Kenya’s wildlife and habitats on land and in the ocean.
