About Oliver Winks
I founded Root & Branch with my co-founder Adam Newman in January 2024 to make an impact on the issue of carbon emissions from ICT. We're a small team of highly motivated and experienced software experts that help start-ups and scale-ups develop their digital products in a more sustainable way. We are the maintainers of Cardamon - an open source carbon emissions measurement tool for software developers. When I'm not thinking of ways to reduce the carbon footprint of software you'll find me paragliding over the south downs or spending time with my beautiful partner and our awesome daughter.

Head of software production. Currently designing and implementing Animazoo's operating software (Animaview 2.0). Animaview 2.0 is a modular software application used for capturing animations and biomechanical data. A part from it's primary purpose (motion capture) it can also be used to visualise and clean animations. I designed Animaview 2.0 so that it could be easily extended by third party developers, it makes extensive use of the NetBeans RCP platform to acheive this.Whilst at Animazoo I have also been responsible for developing the software to control a digital puppet product developed by Animazoo's sister company AnimaLive. The application I developed interacts with digital characters and other stage equipment via MIDI signals.

A website designed to act as an online museum for sierra leone.
