I have completed an extended internship at Novo Nordisk a pharmaceutical company, the worlds largest producer of insulin. Specifically, employed in the Diabetes Finished Product (DFP), Business Support Digital Transformation team.As a small team I have been engaged in digitalizing processes at our 7 sites spread across 4 continents. Furthermore, to investigate and accelerate radical innovation with a long term future outlook. During my 12 months I have been involved with the following.- Facilitation and content creating of a 3 day innovation workshop and hackathon for the management of Novo Nordisk Site in Tianjin, China.- Creation of an innovation acceleration framework and publishing as a usable tool across the DFP sites.- Creation of a digital showroom in the headquarters with the aim of showcasing our technology prototypes.- Piloting of idea campaigns to capture innovative ideas.- Prototyping of various technologies such as VR, AR & Chatbots.- Assisting team members on various projects involving PRA & BPM technology.- Education and use of Lean, Scrum, Design Thinking methodologies.

The thesis proposed a framework to assess a SMMCs information management strategy using Valcon as a case example and received grade 12/12.Small to medium sized management consultancies (SMMC) are reliant on their consultant’s knowledge to meet and exceed client expectations in delivering solutions. The approach and considerations a SMMC takes to achieve a strategy which leverages their knowledge while accommodating their characteristics are key. However, the role of Information Systems (IS) in the age of digitalization is also to be considered. Therefore, understanding the implications of strategically balancing the management of information between technology and people were at the center of this thesis.
