Initially employed as an assistive technologies trainer, I have made extensive use of my experience in teaching and training along with a sincere desire to help to introduce new users to a broad range of AT, as well as upskill more experienced users to help them get the most they can out of the technologies available.My role has since evolved to steer projects to create bespoke script solutions to allow AT users to efficiently use both standard Microsoft and custom applications (web, Java, Windows) in their roles and ensure their needs are always at the fore of everything we do. My role includes documenting the full range of a user’s requirements in a given application to be used throughout a project.; Carrying out detailed accessibility testing on the applications and documenting the accessibility and efficiency issues to be resolved; Working closely with our development team to guarantee that the final solution meets the user’s needs. Once the solutions are complete, I create detailed training materials and conducting the associated training sessions.In recent years, I have also started carrying out accessibility audits on commercial and public sector web applications for conformance with WCAG 2.1 standards using both automated and manual testing methods and subsequently producing the accompanying reports and accessibility statements.

In this role I have consistently demonstrated a keen eye for detail and the ability to provide outstanding customer service. The role focuses on making customers better off by exploring their financial situation to identify both primary and secondary needs.I work closely with other business areas in order to maximize the effectiveness of our services and resources.I have undertaken a number of additional tasks to help mitigate risk and ensure our branch is compliant with external regulation and internal policy.I was chosen as 1 of 12 to take part in a regional development program after proving my ability and competence as well as potential to move into a management role.

In addition to working as an ESL teacher, I completed additional training and took on the role of TEFL teacher trainer. In this role I organise and co-teach the one-month intensive TEFL course at Benedict school. Along side teaching 4 courses per year, I also help trainees prepare for and then observe their practice lessons and provide feedback.
