Oliver is an occasional tutor on the Urban Design module that forms part of the undergraduate and post graduate planning course.

Oliver worked as project architect on the Dublin Colonies development in Edinburgh's new town as well as being part of the team for Dundee Contemporary Arts. He contributed to design competitions and worked as an occasional tutor at the Architecture departments of Edinburgh University and Robert Gordon University Aberdeen
