In my position as a mechanical engineering co-op student at Babcock Canada Inc., I supported senior engineers through all phases of fluid system surveys by compiling drawings and documenting system elements as required for informed decision-making on repair strategies.I responded to technical queries posed by welders, pipefitters, and technicians by inspecting, locating, and measuring system components and writing repair strategies that complied with relevant standards and… Show more In my position as a mechanical engineering co-op student at Babcock Canada Inc., I supported senior engineers through all phases of fluid system surveys by compiling drawings and documenting system elements as required for informed decision-making on repair strategies.I responded to technical queries posed by welders, pipefitters, and technicians by inspecting, locating, and measuring system components and writing repair strategies that complied with relevant standards and specifications.Using AutoCAD, I developed isometric pipe drawings containing construction and testing instructions for a variety of fluid systems, including HVAC, plumbing, and fire suppression systems.I also analyzed marine systems to assess risk levels of flawed system components and wrote design deviations or defect waivers in accordance with the assessed risk.Finally, I provided new hire training such as hazard assessments, lockout tagout procedures, submarine entry/exit protocols, and file management systems. Some of my selected accomplishments include:- Utilizing SolidWorks to draft 2D and 3D drawings for custom fasteners and other designs that adhered to British and Canadian military defense standards and specifications- Performing failure analysis, pipe flow, and beam loading calculations to support senior staff in technical decision making for system improvements Show less
