Currently I am about to complete my Honours year in Pure Mathematics at the University of Sydney, to graduate with first class honours. My Maths/Physics majors required me to model, logically analyse and ultimately understand a vast range of systems; consequently I am very comfortable with combating problems I am unfamiliar with. I completed a number of theoretical and experimental physics projects in which I learned to use Python to for example run multiple threads in order to take simultaneous measurements from different devices and then to analyse the data. The Honours component required a strong work ethic,time management skills and most of all the ability to self motivate and be comfortable with an open ended problem in order to complete a year long research project, and I am proud of the thesis I produced. In terms of university achievements this year I received the Denison Mathematics Summer Research Scholarship and the George Allen Scholarship for the most proficient student going into Pure Mathematics Honours.I have worked as a private high school mathematics tutor and for the past year a tutor for the university- In the latter I direct learning environments with up to 25 first year students from a variety of skill levels. Here I have developed the communication and leadership skills required to maintain respect and engagement from such classes. I also worked as floor staff at The Opera Bar for almost two years, In which I learned how to be professional, work hard and be personable.
