Hey, my name is Oliver 👋I love creativity, rabbit holing in research and generating ideas. Learning I could make a living from this was the greatest thing that ever happened to me.In my personal life I’m the go-to friend for technical problems, advice on marketing or sometimes something a bit more complicated, brand development and websites, so after 8+ years in multiple different digital and creative marketing roles I decided it was time to take the leap. My role at River Island was to control the planning, preparation, implementation and evaluation of day to day trade within my own schedule as well as my teams. I would be communicating with customers, clients and other professionals throughout the business on a daily basis as well as building and maintaining relationships with other stores, face to face, via telephone, email and post as well askeeping accurate up to date paperwork. A lot of my time at River Island was working as part of a team, but I also took time out to mentor newer/younger staff members and took on the role of Operations Supervisor which involved organising staff behind the scenes, managing stock whether that be stock taking or stock replenishment, being responsible for handling money on the tills and money deliveries as well as being a key holder. Another key part of my roll was to keep the working environment up to health and safety standards by using correct equipment and chemicals whenever necessary. During my time with the company I have been sent to represent my store at shop fittings and refurbishments across the UK, I regularly worked alongside Managers and Directors to ensure thegoal behind any job was fulfilled.
