Oliver was born in New Orleans, but grew up outside of Philadelphia. At the University of Pennsylvania he studied molecular biology, engineering, Italian Literature, architecture, and had work exhibited at the Institute for Contemporary Art before deciding a few years after graduating that what he wanted to do was edit films.His work as an editor has won three Emmy Awards, six Emmy nominations, an Alfred I. duPont Award, a Streamy Award and multiple Webby Awards. He has cut numerous television series and documentaries for HBO, PBS, Hulu, CNN Films, and many other networks and cut spots for clients including Chiat/Day and Cliff Freeman.He is the founder of Blue Table Films as well as Blue Table Post, a full service post production facility in Boerum Hill, Brooklyn providing mixing, sound design, DI color grading, VFX and editorial.
