Oliver’s geotechnical design experience includes subsurface investigation, ground improvement, flood defenses, foundations, deep excavations, mechanically stabilized earth wall design, soil nail and tieback design and earthworks in general accordance to local and international standards (International Building Code [IBC], Highways Agency (UK), FHWA, AASHTO, WSDOT and Caltrans). He has construction and geotechnical oversight experience for the Contractor, Designer and Owner on various project delivery models, including Design-Build. He leads the Mott MacDonald west coast Leapfrog Works superuser group, delivering 3D geological models for large linear infrastructure projects.
