My role at Berthon expanded to include bringing new commercial business into the boat yard from commercial craft re-fits through to new build projects such as new classes of Pilot, Patrol, Search and Rescue, Military and fast workboat applications.I am also the Yard Coxswain for collections, deliveries and trials on a variety of different craft.

Employed for the purpose of commissioning and trialing the Berthon built RNLI Shannon class lifeboats as well as being the Yard Coxswain for collections, deliveries and trials on a variety of different craft.

I worked as a freelance Skipper and Instructor based in Lymington between my employment at Gill and Berthon.I worked for a variety of companies and private clients around the UK coast.

I was employed primarily for the acquisition and set-up of a new 7000sq ft production facility for an MoD project, which I project managed from start to finish. It involved the conversion of a storage warehouse into an efficient and modern electronics manufacture facility with test facilities and full MoD security precautions.

Employed as a 3rd Officer straight out of college I was quickly promoted after 18 months to the 2nd officer role. I worked on every class of ship within the deep sea fleet in my time with BP shipping, primarily working on the state-of-the-art 'Emerald class' Diesel electric LNG ships.I worked towards obtaining my senior tickets whilst in BP and obtained my Chief Officer oral exams in 2006.

Whilst finishing my cadetship and finding full qualified employment in the Merchant Navy I worked as a Team Leader in the service industry.Leading a shift of up to 5 barstaff in a busy 600 capacity student pub in central Southampton.

I trained to be a Deck Officer in the Merchant Navy through a slightly complicated loop of international shipping companies...I signed up to a cadetship managed by Clyde Marine group, allocated to a shipping company called Souter Shipping in Newcastle which was latterly bought out by an american group called OSG (Overseas Shipholding Group).My first trip to sea at the tender age of 16 (straight out of GCSE's) saw me on a Cape Size Bulk Carrier for 7 months.
