The past 16 years have been involved as a project manager, project engineer, and team leader for several small and large scale movable bridge projects. Typical tasks outside of daily design and production responsibilities are writing proposals, project cost estimation, coordination of sub consultants, and assisting current clients. Expediting technical data and client correspondence between staff, management, and sub-consultants. As a project engineer responsibilities have included design of numerous superstructures and superstructure components on fixed and movable bridges as well as in-depth inspections and site investigations. Calculated balance of four rolling lift bascule spans and have contributed to the balance of eight total movable bridges according to AASHTO Standards Specifications for Movable Highway Bridge 1998 & 2012.As team leader, successfully performed in-depth inspections for Lafayette Street, Grand Haven, Veterans Memorial Bascule Bridge, and St. Clair Bascule Bridges. I performed an in-depth deck study in 2008 for the International Bridge (Sault Saint Marie, MI) and have been the lead bridge inspector for the International Bridge since 2011. Responsible for structural inspections, data acquisition, project coordination, recommendations, and final reports.Familiar with non-destructive field testing techniques such as Ultrasonic Thickness Gauging as well as Die penetrant Testing (DPT) for structural cracks in steel. Have operated a number of man-lifts as well as participated in the inspection of numerous fixed and movable structures using the Illinois “Snooper” and Michigan’s Reachall. Gained experience with bridge deck core sampling as well as destructive core testing data.

Contributed to a field survey and the design of Gorbel Rd Bridge over Hog Creek – Gerard, Branch County -MDOT. Main responsibilities were the preliminary design of a new single span pre-stress box beam girder bride with HS15-44 load rating. Prepared quantities, cost estimate for bridge and approach work, preliminary site and contract drawings.

Prepared preliminary and final design plans and cost estimates for a number of local bridges funded under the Critical Bridge Program. Performed construction inspection services for MDOT bridge projects including Kalamazoo Street Bridge- Lansing, MI and M-99 over Spring Brook, Eaton Rapids. Played Key role in completing multi conveyor system for Mulzer Crushed Aggregates as a sub consultant to Hartman Fabco.

Performed advanced engineering calculations and detailed of a number of material handling system components under the supervision of a Professional Engineer (Company Partner). Design, model, and detail conveyor trusses, spread footings, feedboxes, industry standard walkways, extension chutes, screen modules, and catch bins. Spearheaded method that incorporated dual 3-D coordinate system. This system was used to spatially relate elevations and work points measured in the field to the model. Performed basic engineering duties in the fabrication of material handling systems used for crushing and conveying limestone and other aggregates. Responsible for shop drawings, cover sheets and material summaries for fabrication. Assisted structural engineer and shop personnel with conveyor component design.
