It is about focusing on the present, breaking the chains and leaving the path of fear, suffering and destruction. As the Chief Operations Officer at The Herbal Alternative, I was responsible for all processes from seed to sale, including, but not limited to; all staffing and management, setting grow schedules, regulatory compliance, facility management, wholesale and dispensary sales. I have had the unique opportunity to be involved in designing, creating and operating this fully vertically integrated grow and dispensary facility.During my time with THA I gained a wealth of experience in all aspects of a commercial grow operation and affiliated dispensaries. Through continual assessment and review of all operating procedures , staffing and strategic planning, I ensured crop stability, higher yields, staff retention and compliance with all state and local regulations. I developed specific monitoring systems that informed of deviations from optimal conditions and functionality and, if necessary introduced the relevant necessary skill set to rectify or improve the situation. I keep myself well informed of all developments within the industry to ensure we are at the forefront of new standards, products and grow methods while maintaining state regulatory compliance. I implemented a unique management style that strives to empower and nurture talented individuals to achieve excellence in their respective roles within the organization. My role included new business development coordinator. In this role I accessed new and existing growth opportunities within the emerging cannabis industry and investigated any potential areas of growth. Other roles included:• Starting a grow operation/dispensary • Planning and designing an integrated grow facility with data driven metrics• Hiring, training and deploying staff & all state compliance• Creating Standard Operating procedures (SOP’s)• Creating an overall grow schedule & advanced living soil techniques• Troubleshooting common (and not so common) grow issues• Dispensary management and purchasing products

KCF is a fundraising charity. We adopt long term projects such as our current Fight Malaria. Funds raised for this project purchase Long life insecticide treated nets (LLINs) from reliable high quality suppliers. We purchase nets from manufacturers accredited by reputable regulatory bodies other than the WHO. We are therefore able to maintain the quality of the nets and keep the purchase price low. Further reductions in costs are made by using existing distribution networks. Set up in 2008, the Foundation challenges the spread of malaria. The Foundation takes the view that until a vaccine is developed, the critical factor is the prevention of the disease. To this end, the provision of Insecticide treated bed nets (LLINs) is essential.
