Research into circadian rhythms in intensive care units in order to predict deterioration of patients and to determine methods of maintaining regular rhythms.

• Research into physiological and behavioural measures in mental health disorders. Including investigating heart rate and circadian rhythms in bipolar disorder, with the aim of being able to predict periods of depression.
• Signal processing techniques for ECG recordings. Robust calculation of R-peaks forcalculation of heart rate variability metrics.
• Development of measures to quantify circadian rhythms through fitting of functions to heart rate and activity signals.
• Analysis of actigraphy data, through processing of three-dimensional acceleration signals to determine sleep onset and offset and activity levels.
• Development of traditional machine learning approaches for classification of mental health disorders for diagnosis, and for regression in order to predict severity of illness.
• Design and optimisation of deep learning architectures in Python and Tensorflow, for multiple applications, including predicting depressive episodes in bipolar disorder.

Oxford

• Taught the first year mathematics module for the Engineering Science degree students at St Edmund Hall.
• Tutoring 10 first year engineering undergraduates the mathematic module, one quarter of theirfirst-year work and give the first tutorials they receive at the university.
