Working as a freelancer alongside my university studies has mostly consisted of small odd jobs including brand design and printed matter. This work has been for people like friends and family, as to try and build experience in graphic design.

Full time seasonal worker in the soft services team at UMS, NZ. UMS is contracted by Auckland Council to maintain the West and Rodney areas of Auckland. Working for UMS over 5 summers full time was a very fulfilling experience, working in the outdoors during summer is hard work but I got to be outside walking most of the day. My role in the soft services team was mostly an independent litter picker, dedicated to the parks and reserves in the contracted areas. A fulfilling role of cleaning the parks, reserves, that people like to enjoy throughout the summer. This job also kept me in check with organisation and time management, starting my days in the early hours of the morning, trying to clean up before the people arrived, this challenged my dedication and work ethic. I thoroughly enjoyed the job and the long hours of work. This job has given me much needed life lessons and an insight into a minuscule part of the huge environmental problems we have.

Working part time, in Piries butcher shop in Mount Eden, was a new and great experience. I came to understand a job I had not previously had any insight to. I assisted the head butchers in their tasks of food preparation and front of house. I served customers, prepared meat and food items, including knife and machine skills, packaging. It was a fast paced environment, there was always something to do or someone to serve. I thoroughly enjoyed this experience, the skills and knowledge that came with it is an additive bonus, for a part time job.
