As Communications & Stakeholder Relations Manager for SBCERA, I was responsible for managing the strategic direction, development, and implementation of all communications and stakeholder relations initiatives. In this role, I was responsible for planning, developing, and implementing a comprehensive proactive communications plan to include member and employer outreach programs. I analyzed the extent of member, employer, and community understanding of the programs administered by SBCERA and determined the need for further educational activities.I served as on-going liaison and represented SBCERA in public forums with employers, members, retiree organizations, and other related organizations; while proactively taking steps to build positive relationships with employers and key stakeholders.I managed the development, design, and publication of SBCERA collateral material including but not limited to narrative and statistical information for retirement system benefits, comprehensive annual financial reports, popular annual financial reports, and other public documents.I developed, coordinated, and analyzed survey data to identify perceptions, while developing and applying performance metrics to ensure the effectiveness of communication programs. Based on findings, I provided recommendations to senior leadership.I oversaw SBCERA's media relations, social media, and website programs; developed content and supervised regular updates of various outlets and sites.

As Public Information Officer for the City of Eastvale, I was responsible for overseeing all City-wide communications and community engagement efforts. In this role, I was responsible for a comprehensive communications and community engagement program including external and internal communications, public outreach, and engagement, strategic planning, crisis communications, and information sharing across the city of a growing population of over 75,000 residents, businesses, and stakeholders. The projects and initiatives I managed all reflected the vision, mission, strategic goals, and key issues of the City of Eastvale. I was responsible for coordinating communication opportunities to help foster understanding among the public and City employees of City-wide vision, strategic priorities, program goals, and services. I both prepared and managed the dissemination of a wide variety of public information regarding City business including media releases, public service announcements, newsletters, articles, special presentations, and related materials. I served as the primary media liaison and spokesperson. Throughout my time with the City of Eastvale, I successfully led large scale projects and initiatives. To name a few, I led the organization through a complete website redesign, spearheaded the City’s first Community Satisfaction Study, led two successful State of the City events, developed brand and social media guides, and strategically enhanced communications and community engagement efforts City-wide.
