I developed my skills:- Using CBORD and EMR to order and amend diets and supplements- Managing my own patient load- Calculating estimated requirements and estimated intake using quantitative measures - Using evidence based guidelines to provide appropriate recommendations depending on disease state and patient’s clinical status- Working as part of a team both within the dietetics department but also with other health professionals- Prioritising nutritional issues in complex cases- Communicating with patients and their families to provide education in an effective and informative manner- Providing appropriate interventions including oral and enteral nutrition where indicated- Liaising with other health professionals through participation in ward rounds, case conferences and white board meetings

During my time at Fairfield hospital I worked in the outpatient and inpatient setting across all the hospital wards, primarily dealing with diabetes (T1DM, T2DM, GDM) and patients requiring healthy eating education. I developed my skills in:- Providing consumer friendly nutrition advice to promote public health through the Arnott’s and Campbell’s websites- Comparing and reviewing nutritional information for Arnott’s Campbell’s products versus competitors for the purpose of nutritionally conscious future product development- Developing presentations to be used in meetings with key stakeholders- Liaising with stakeholders in the public health domain One of my major achievements at Arnott’s was developing a presentation, which is being used as part of a three year initiative aimed at increasing the intake of vegetables in the Australian population.
