Working at the alchemist has extremely matured the way i have previously worked within hospitality. The training, service criteria and customer experience is of such a high expectation it taught me a different level of professionalism and drive to get to where i am today. The training process is extremely intense, which has helped me to push myself out of my comfort zone and challenge myself to take on new tasks that i had been unfamiliar too in the past. At the alchemist one of their key goals is sales. Something i was not used to in previous jobs, however being at the Alchemist for 2 years has really enabled me to hit those targets needed by my employer and get to my goal by the end of the night. We do weekly/weekend incentive’s of making the most sales or selling one particular product, in the past i have won this multiple times by my good communication skills, listening and understanding the customers and determination to hit my targets. I have gained skills within Collins their booking system, organising bookings, making phone calls and updating systems correctly. Working at the Alchemist also helped me gain even more teamwork skills as i have recently been promoted to IST (in store trainer) where i train new starting staff in the job, therefore i have great direction, patience and an understanding personality.

I had many responsibilities in this job which included, waitressing, pot washing, and working behind thebar. In this job i was regularly praised for my efforts and was made team leader for the waitresses, i wasalso noticed for my quick learning skills and was put into the kitchen on busier days alongside waitressing,meaning i have skills to balance tasks and responsibilities efficiently. I gained more teamwork skills,independence skills, team leader skills, patience, money handling skills, culinary skills and lots more.

Responsible for ensuring customers are kept satisfied with their fast food experience. Stocking and organising the restaurant, packing food orders and cleaning to ensure the area is hygienic. Working in KFC, gave me skills of patience and dealing with customers who may be unsatisfied, i was able to help the customers out and ensure they were happy with their end experience at the restaurant. I was recognisedfor my hardworking skills by being offered to train on new stations so that i could work on all areas, and given multiple mentions by the managers and extra hours. However my job was cut short due to Covid 19, even though I wasn’t there for long, it allowed me to understand how to handle fast pace working environments in preparation for jobs in my future.
