My name is Olivia Buck and I am a recent graduate from East Carolina University. I pursued my Bachelors of Science in Public Health with a concentration in Community Health. I have been working a part-time job serving at Ninos Cucina Italiana for four years while also volunteering at the Pitt County animal shelter. I also have certifications in Grant Seeking Essentials, Nonprofit Essentials, and Social and Behavioral Responsible Conduct of Research, and an ambassador for water safety. During the past four years in the Public Health department at East Carolina I have learned how to prevent, promote, and protect different health issues. Some courses I have completed have had a significant impact in my increasing knowledge, such as; anatomy and physiology, nutrition, health equity, women’s health, health problems, and sociology of intimate relationships. Taking my course information seriously, using proper resources, preparing for real world experiences, practicing presentations, working with others, and doing research have all prepared me for my future career in Public Health.I recently completed an internship at the American Red Cross as a Volunteer Services Screening and Recruitment Intern.
