I just started my summer job as a Museum Educator with the Preservation Society of Newport County. I am creating Family Programming for them, as well as assisting with Summer Camp visits and redesigning scavenger hunts. I recently worked as an Auxilaire de Conversacion (Language Assistant) in Spain for 8 months. In this position, I taught English to classrooms of children ages 3-12. I have not only learned techniques for teaching and classroom management, but also improved my communications skills, particularly through creating and delivering oral presentations. I also used my college summers to experience different career opportunities. These have included being a tour guide at a local museum near my hometown and a Research Fellow with Furman's history department. In these experiences, I have navigating databases, prioritized and investigated primary sources, deescalated social situations, lectured, vended, and more.
