As a writer at the Times free Press, my work involved writing for magazines published through the the Times Free Press-- GetOut, Chatter. and EDGE, as well as the daily news from the Chattanooga area, Parents, 4Paws, and Dining Out that are included as monthly additions to the daily paper. I was responsible for story-relevant research, phone and in-person interviews, editing and proofing articles in layout, and turning around as many as 3 or 4 stories per week.

At Dalewood Middle School, it fell to me to help alleviate the poor student-teacher ratio by breaking down the classroom and involving students in more one-on-one aid. Instead of making students hyper-aware of their shortcomings in the classroom, it was my job to help them devise a plan of attack for them to overcome their weaknesses and excel. I focused on helping boost literacy, grammar skills, reading and writing skills, and was essentially a living "study tool" and mentor for students!
