Artist Ticketing Coordinator
Assist with all artist related enquries regarding ticketing before and throughout the Adelaide Fringe season. I also build all the events and venues into Red61, and make edits and changes as necessary.
Ticketing Supervisor
I ensured all box offices were ran as smoothly as possible during the Festival; by providing support to a large group of volunteer staff members. I provided them training on how to use Red61 to make ticket sales and deal with general enquries. If there were any challenging situations with customers, I was available to step in to assist. In this role I was also responsible for supervising the Artist Industry team, who dealt with all artist enquires. This included enquires for ticket holds, allocations, comp tickets and papering ticket requests.
Box Office And Customer Service Coordinator
I assisted the Box Office and Customer Service Manager to ensure all aspects of the box offices were set up before the festival, and also to ensure they were running smoothly during the Fringe. A big part of this role was recruiting a large team of Box Office and Customer Service casual staff, This involved; preparing interview questions, selecting staff for interviews, conducting group interviews, and providing training to all hired casual staff. This role was also largely customer service based, as it involved answering a large amount of customer enquiries in the months leading up to the festival.
Event Coordinator
I managed events across all of Light's different spaces. I coordinated events ranging from corporate style lunches, dinners, product launches, networking events, and also private events including weddings, birthdays and other celebrations. This role required me to be in constant communication with clients, but also with all other departments at Light.I organised events from initial contact with the client, through to execution of the event. This involved meeting with client regularly, creating briefs, run sheets and quotes.
Head Waitress
I worked in Five Regions, the fine dining restaurant located in Oval Hotel. The menu was seasonal, and every two months a new winery was featured from one of the five wine regions of South Australia. This meant I constantly had to learn new knowledge about food and wine pairings, and had to explain to each table the menu in depth.
Guest Service Agent
A company which offers guided hiking tours on popular hiking tracks in the Fiordland region of New Zealand. I provided guests with all necessary information before they embarked on their multiple day hikes. This meant I had to do daily briefings, giving a presentation in groups of up to 50 people. This really developed my confidence in talking to large groups of people as my public speaking and communication skills improved drastically. This job also required a lot of admin work to be done. The guest services team dealt with all guest paperwork, making sure all their dietaries, medical conditions and emergency contacts are correctly input into the system. I also made a lot of phone calls and answered emails to answer any questions guests had about the company's product. We had a difficult season with a large weather event in early February. This resulted in Ultimate Hikes having to cancel all of their walks for a month. Obviously, Covid-19 also resulted in the same process. This was a difficult time as I had to consult with all the guests who either had to be refunded or wanted to exchange their walk dates. This took a very long time and sometimes I had to deal with very angry guests. Therefore, this further developed my customer service skills, and I discovered I was capable of working well under pressure in this unfortunate time of crisis.
Rentals Attendant
At the Remarkables - I worked my third season in the rentals department, furthering my confidence in my knowledge of different ski and snowboard types. This meant learning more terminology to explain construction, profiles and differences between equipment depending on what the customer is wanting to use the equipment for (eg. for freestyle, carving, all mountain etc). This was a very busy environment which required me to be able to keep working efficiently under pressure, as an individual and as part of a team.
Server And Bartender
A craft beer bar and rotisserie restaurant located in a prime location on the River Torrens. This was a very busy environment as the venue is next to Adelaide Oval. Responsibilities include serving tables in a friendly manner, being organised with time to ensure all tables are satisfied. I also worked occasionally behind the bar, serving alcoholic/non alcoholic drinks and making cocktails.
Server
A busy, two-story restaurant in Banff, Alberta. Full table service was required, which was different to service experienced in Australia. This really improved my efficiency when taking orders, running food and drinks and also making sure my section was clean and tidy.
Assistant Rentals Supervisor
A ski resort in Banff, Alberta. This was my second season working in the rentals department, and I was given the assistant rentals supervisor position. This meant I was charge of the shop when the supervisor was not present. This role allowed me to develop my responsibility in a leadership role.
Rental Attendant
I worked full time, throughout a busy Christmas and New Year period at Grouse Mountain, a popular skiing destination in North Vancouver. This job was very demanding, as we were extremely busy. This meant I had to be very organised and time efficient in all the different aspect of this job including; selling people rental packages, handling money, setting up skis and snowboards and ensuring they were set correctly based on experience of the user, having knowledge of the different types of equipment for example; what would be good for a beginner to use, or what would be best in the conditions for the day.
