I am a current Project Associate within the International Development division at RTI International and an MSc candidate at the London School of Economics and Political Science studying Anthropology and International Development. Additionally, I am a graduate of the University of Notre Dame majoring in Anthropology and minoring in International Development and Latino Studies and a former Fulbright English Teaching Assistant in Ibagué, Colombia. As a current international development professional, I am actively deepening my understanding of local perspectives, inclusive development and improved livelihoods through improved educational outcomes. Previously, I worked within the Locally Led Development Team at RTI International as a consultant, a leading development organization working to implement localized practices, co-creation and shifting power to local communities.My graduate curriculum included important classes like Managing Humanitarianism, where I learned how to critically evaluate humanitarian action, stakeholders and outcomes. Additionally, my focus on anthropological perspectives allows me to engage with local development, an essential tool for creating sustainable solutions to global problems. During my undergraduate years, classes like International Development in Practice and Mexican Immigration: A South Bend Case Study allowed me to put research and problem solving skills in practice by performing group and individual projects. Further, I have worked in Notre Dame's Pulte Institute for Global Development to gain practical experience in effective development practices. I hope to engage empathy, an innovative mindset and my passion for integral human development in my future work. My role as a Fulbright English Teaching Assistant included presenting quality English education to university students across different university programs and language levels. Additionally, I created four English clubs to promote conversation, reading, as well as a specific space to discuss women's empowerment through 'Mujeres en Ingles' club. I am striving to promote language learning through collaboration with my students and fellow professors. At its core, integral human development means development of the whole person. I am intrigued by the power of quality education, localization and inclusivity in community advancement. Always striving to understand the complex web of poverty, I am dedicated to solving problems alongside local communities.
