Currently enjoying my role as an Aquarist at Bristol Aquarium, I am responsible for the upkeep of all exhibits by ensuring water quality and animal welfare is of the highest standard. I have developed excellent communication skills as I give talks and presentations daily on many subjects to large groups of over 100 people across a wide age range. I am responsible for the educational talks, encounters and presentations for school and university groups as well as the general public both within the aquarium and as outreach programmes. My talks cover a range of subjects from sustainable fishing and coral reef importance to Rock Pool encounters at schools and summer play schemes. Within my role I regularly network between aquariums, marine charities and the fishing industry. Many of our animals have IUCN or CITES status or are considered endangered in the wild and I am familiar with the legislation that comes with them. I am also responsible for the volunteers and work experience students on a day to day basis.
