I am currently working from home as an outpatient scheduler for KCH. My official title is “Direct Access Representative.” It is my responsibility to be in contact with the physician offices and their patients to ensure that all ordered procedures are scheduled in a timely manner. I cover most family practices at the hospital which puts me at over 400 orders per month. We must check all insurances for prior authorizations, conduct estimates, and provide instructions/directions for all outpatient testing.

I currently have a position interning with the HR department at the hospital. Everyday is different in that I spend my time shadowing different staff members from different departments all around the facility. I hope to find what interests me in my chosen field of study, to hopefully gain an administrative position at this incredible hospital.

My job duties included: answering phone calls (speaking with clients and/or their family member, aides/STNA's, and Passport case managers of clients), logging payroll hours, calling in client appointments, mailing schedules and paychecks, logging client visit times for billing purposes, and other outside errands if needed.

More appropriately named as Service Desk Associate. My job tasks included: answering/directing phone calls, handling returns and/or exchanges, making/serving complementary popcorn and coffee, smoothing over situations with upset customers, opening and/or closing clean-up routine, making sure the cashiers had what they needed, put away freight, constructed displays.

My job duties included: greeting customers as they came in, exchanging money for entrance charges, measuring children to ride on slides, directing tourists to places around town, answering phone calls, cleaning the front entrance and outside waiting area, handled the end of day cash reports, called break times over loud speaker, covered positions during after hour parties.
