I am accountable for overseeing a home office in St. Louis to strategically plan, implement, and evaluate recruitment activities and high school relations in St. Louis and the surrounding areas. Additionally, I disseminate crucial information about Mizzou and the college planning process to potential students, parents, and high school counselors. This encompasses organizing high school college visits, actively engaging in college fairs, and delivering impactful college planning workshops and presentations for audiences of up to 250 individuals. I am the primary point of contact for students, parents, and high school counselors from the St. Louis area for Mizzou.My responsibilities include orchestrating pre-college visit calls and correspondence, efficiently arranging travel, and diligently following up with students, faculty, and staff contacted during visits via phone and email. Furthermore, I provide specialized counseling on admission and scholarship selection policies.

As an Ambassador with the Honors College on the recruitment side, my job is to meet with prospective students and give them information on not only what it means to be a part of the Honors College but also what it means to be a part of the Mizzou community. I assist with both individual and large group recruitment events.

As the Director of Youth Ministries, I worked with students from 6th-12th grade and their parents. With the students, it was my job to make sure that they felt welcome and secure while also pushing them to make deeper connections with the world around them. In addition, I worked to support them in any extracurricular activities they participated in. With parents, it was my goal to keep them informed on the faith development of their students and provide an extra hand in any issues that cropped up in the youth’s lives outside of the church.This job has reinforced my skills in flexibility and problem solving as we shape what it means to be a flexible ministry. I have made it my personal goal to provide as many opportunities for students to connect as possible. This has included making sure that I have a variety of volunteers who can connect with students in different ways, as well as making sure to take advantage of social media, and offering more meeting times.

As an assistant youth director, it was my job to help plan weekly lessons, monthly service opportunities, and an end-of-the-year mission trip. In addition, I worked to re-do our paperwork system, including re-updating all student information and streamlining our budget process.As the assistant youth director, I implemented a new system through which to deliver devotionals to students. We had an issue with conforming to students’ schedules so I suggested we create a blog with our weekly devotionals posted on it. Through this project, we were able to triple our weekly attendance from approximately 10 students to 30 students a week. We received positive feedback from both the students and parents that the site has made it easier to remain involved despite busy schedules.
