I have a Bachelor of Science degree in Nutrition from Georgia State University. In this program I utilized and strengthened skills in critical thinking, interpretation of clinical lab values, menu planning, and communication. I graduated Summa Cum Laude and was received highest GPA of my graduating class, was an Alpha Eta Society Inductee, and received the Johnnie W. Prothro Academic Excellence Award. I was Vice President of the Nutrition Students Network, which helped develop leadership and marketing experience as well as a significant increase in student engagement. I have shadowing experience at Grady Memorial hospital in their Women's Center ward as well as their Food as Medicine Teaching Kitchen in which nutrition education, assessment, and cooking skill demonstrations were utilized. I have also completed an accredited health and wellness coaching program at Georgia State University; this involved 2 years of advanced courses in behavior change, coaching strategies, motivational interviewing, and nutrition and disease. I have 3 summers worth of experience in leading youth teams from 5th-12th grade through The Road mission program at Faithbridge Church. This role required skills in meal planning, student development, leadership, communication among ministry partners, education, scheduling and budgeting. I have a degree in culinary arts with Over 10 years experience in food industry (restaurant, catering, healthy meal planning). I have 3 years of experience volunteering with nonprofits combatting food deserts, food insecurity, and the double burden of malnutrition.
