Provide reference services for Tennesseans and patrons around the world interested in the history of Tennessee and genealogy. Perform reference assistance in person, over the phone, via email, or on live chat. Research and compile legislative history for patrons. Fulfill research requests by pulling materials through the Automatic Retrieval Storage System (ASRS). Serve as a member of the Collections Development Committee. Assist colleagues and patrons with managing and fulfilling Interlibrary Loan Requests.

Processed historical Tennessee Supreme Court case files for the Archives’ largest collection. Responsibilities included document analysis and description, data entry, conservation, preservation, organization, and handling of exhibits. Trained to fulfill research requests using the Automated Storage and Retrieval System (ASRS).

Upon promotion to Manager, oversight included all aspects of store management, customer service, sales promotions, and performing customer demonstrations.

Served as subject matter expert leading an archival project with digital and physical photos for the Aquarium’s marketing department. Oversaw creation and execution of an organizational plan for assets within Web DAM. Designed a metadata and keyword standard for the department to be used after the project’s completion.

Recorded metadata for three photo albums (dated 1894-97) being digitized for DCR’s archives. Recorded metadata for a government institution’s digital archives, including how to catalog photographs and utilize subject heading resources (LCSH and AAT). Organized large maps and plans. Ensured proper handling, organization, and storage of oversized plans.

Published five articles in family-oriented Memphis Parent, and wrote four articles for main publication Memphis Magazine. Learned and applied the journalistic process from article creation to print production. Copy edited for Memphis Magazine and Memphis Flyer newspaper. Interviewed local citizens including local teachers and a child recognized as 2018 Scholastic Junior Journalist.

Curated exhibit cases in the State Library and Archives lobby. Researched books and records, wrote, and labelled description cards. Collected and recorded metadata from a 1920s local university yearbook for use in the Archives’ public database, TeVA. Selected images from TeVA and wrote captions to be used on the Archives’ Instagram account.

As a second semester Junior, I enrolled in a publishing course that focused on editing the Spring edition. In this course, 20 students acted as a team of assistant editors selecting the prose, poetry and artwork featured in the magazine.

Conducted research and oral history interviews on WDVX's creation and history in Knoxville. Used archival records from the East Tennessee Historical Society and the station to create a timeline. Worked with audio equipment to create lasting records for WDVX. Performed other intern duties including customer service for patrons and clerical work.
