● Maintain quality documents such as: temperature (room & refrigerator), fume hood, ThinPrep/VP 2000/Tissue-Tek Machines, eyewash station, centrifuge maintenance, thermobrites, bench cleaning, stain log, and specimen log in.● Gross and process specimens using centrifuge, vortex, ThinPrep method with Cytolyt and PreservCyt solutions, and stainers. ● Run and process control slides/specimens for each test performed: Cytology, Feulgen, and FISH (Florescent In-Situ Hybridization), Gastrointestinal Brushings (GI Brushings), Cell Blocks, and Fine Needle Aspirations (FNA). ● Check for cell clarity after processed through stainer and then processed through a xylene coverslip machine. ● Using correct LIS (Laboratory Information System) specimens are grossed. Types of specimen cases received are: Global, Technical, and Professional. Transcribe finished specimen cases and then assign to Pathologist. ● Discard bio hazardous waste in proper disposal bins. ● Label previously made cell blocks. ● Prepare reagents for staining such as: lower percentage alcohols, Protease Buffer, and Sulfur Wash.
