Spent one month as a student intern during the St. Lawrence Kenya Semester Program. Focused on HIV prevention tactics in a community-based setting under the supervision of employees and medical professionals in association with the DREAMS project. Shadowed counselors and physicians during daily patient screening. Assisted in event planning for the DREAMS project all targeting HIV prevention, and educational talks explaining the benefits of PREP and PEP in HIV prevention.

Interned for an acupuncture clinic located in Pune, India, and conducted research using various online databases to assist supervisor in professional research on the various benefits of acupuncture for migraines and insomnia. Conducted patient interviews via zoom, both in English as well as using a translator, transcribed interviews using Microsoft Word, and reported success stories for the clinic website, therefore assisting supervisor in advertising acupuncture practice for prospective patients. Created a series of guided patient exercise videos for patients to do at-home exercises during the Covid-19 pandemic, and learned the value of patience and self-advocacy during professional cross-cultural interactions.
