Responsibilities involved; Working with states to evaluate the training and educational needs of substance use disorder (SUD) provider organizations. Organizing trainings and continuing education opportunities on evidence based practices in behavioral health for medical providers as needed in KS, MO, IA and NE. Providing healthcare reform readiness assessments for SUD providers and assistance in adapting to healthcare reform requirements. Conducting face to face presentations and online webinars for large audiences referencing data collected on the SUD workforce in the region. Working with Federally Qualified Health Centers (FQHCs) to provide training in co-occurring hepatitis and SUDs. Involvement in a national workgroup on hepatitis tasked with developing a curriculum for medical providers. Assisting PI in manuscript development & publication for academic journals.

: Responsibilities involved; Leadership of a national research team tasked with conducting the first national research study on the SUD treatment workforce. Coordinated, designed, implemented and analyzed the data from this inaugural study. Involved in assessing the needs of the workforce as they relate to education and training in areas such as HIT and specifically EHR implementation. Acted as liaison for the NIDA/SAMHSA Blending Initiative, coordinating country-wide workgroups, supporting teams in creating educational products for SUD providers and maintaining national websites for the initiative. Responsible for reporting, evaluation and performance monitoring of over $1 million annually in grant funding. Responsible for obtaining and maintaining OMB and IRB approval for all research studies.
