As a recent graduate from the University of Virginia I have established fundamental knowledge in core environmental topics in atmospheric sciences, geology, ecology, and hydrology. Regarding my elective courses at the University of Virginia and the University of Montana, I have focused my studies on ecological sciences including Conservation Ecology, Management of Forest Ecosystems, Ecosystem Ecology, and Spatial Ecology. To complement my understanding of ecology I completed my final semester at the University of Virginia with courses focused on physical sciences and data analysis. Physical sciences included courses in hydrological transport processes and hydrological field methods. Data analysis within these courses have included, but are not limited to biodiversity measures, species composition, hydrologic characteristics of streams, and hydrologic transport processes. My coursework has aided me in my current position of Scientist in the Park Intern at Big Thicket National Preserve. This internship has been designed to teach me about forestry, the restoration of longleaf pine savannah ecosystems, and natural resource management. I regularly work alongside biologists and field technicians to gain field experience and knowledge regarding data collection and analysis. Between my internship and coursework, I have gained experience with data entry and data analysis using programs such as Microsoft Excel, R Studio, and MATLAB. I am eager to engage in field work, data analysis, and advanced writing, and believe I am a strong candidate for entry level environmental positions. I am open to connecting via Linkedin or email.
