Sea Grant Field InternPurdue University May 2015 - May 2016West Lafayette, InMy primary responsibility was collecting and processing data on Lake Michigan. I collected samples off of the EPA vessel the Lake Guardian on Lake Michigan as well as off of Purdue's work skiff. I also processed samples sorting species and running an analysis of their fatty acids in the lab. In addition, I was part of a research project with other undergraduates in the lab that we conducted oursevles. This job gave me opportunities to learn about experiment design, lab techniques, and field techniques. I enjoyed being exposed to many new experiences as an engineer working in a fisheries biology lab. -
