• Develop best practices, routines, and innovative solutions to improve production rates and quality of output while reducing costs.• Maintain an in-depth understanding of product properties and formulas.• Conduct bench and pilot batch activities for new, restages, and existing products. • Assist in the transfer and scale up of new formulas from R&D.• Participate in pre-pilot and post pilot production meetings.• Write manufacturing procedures following FDA and cGMP guidelines for OTC and cosmetic formulas while ensuring quality, aesthetics, and batch to batch consistency.• Ensure safe and effective procedures followed in compliance of cGMP.• Perform installation/operational qualifications (IQ/OQ) for new equipment.• Frequent use of change control documentation.• Troubleshooting and conducting root cause analysis of out of specification events and deviations using root cause analysis tools like 5 Whys, fishbone diagram, etc.• Assist overseeing the process and completion of line-trials. • Provide compounding labor for quote requests that flow through the site.• Cross functional team member in support of departmental goals.• Provide feedback and suggestions to further improve the teams skills.

Finished product, bulk, and raw material testing following company SOPs/methods and USP monographs.Test samples using various instruments and techniques such as UV-VIS, FT-IR, HPLC, TOC, viscosity, pH, melting point, manual and auto titration techniques, refractive index, particle size, TLC, and specific gravity.Works dilligently to complete all necessary tests in a time efficient manner in a quality control laboratory.
