I am someone who enjoys working in high-pressure environments or working in engaging activities. Thus, I am actively looking to work as a medical scribe, medical intern, or generally any medical employment for a pre-med undergraduate student. Additionally, I am actively seeking employment as a server/waitress in any sort of restaurant, as my family has been working within the restaurant business throughout their entire lives, which has inspired me to want to work within this business as well. Although I am currently seeking employment in these fields, I have already gained experience in both categories that have secured my interest in these fields. For example, for two consecutive summers during high school, I had interned at Neighborhood Healthcare and learned many things about healthcare operations that I had not known before. I had gained the understanding on what a doctor does outside of their interactions with the patients, methodology of diagnosis, and clinical "customer service". Although I have set my mind on pursuing a career in the medical field, experiencing the operations within a healthcare facility first-hand was definitely a personal push of motivation towards pursuing my life-long goal. Following this experience, I find myself increasingly eager to continue on this path of involvement.What had led me to joining this internship had been my prior high school involvement in Future Doctors of America, an on-campus club dedicated to educating the student body on medical career pathways and introducing opportunities for community healthcare involvement. I participated in this club for all four years of high school, while also holding leadership positions. During my junior year, I was elected as Secretary, then Vice President my senior year. Not only had my involvement led me to participate at Neighborhood Healthcare and fundraising at Relay for Life , but I had gained skills in leadership as well. I had organized hospital tours at the Temecula Valley Hospital, seminars, and engaging activities to promote club growth.To touch on my experience within the restaurant business, I have worked two positions at two different restaurants, and am interested in cultivating my experience through further job opportunities. My first experience within the industry would be hosting, bussing, and serving in Bamboo House, a Chinese restaurant located in Escondido, California. I had been eager to work in this restaurant due to the fact that it is owned by my father, who had taken over not long before I started working there. Currently, I host at Applebee's.
